What is technology you may ask?
Technology is the application of human knowledge and use of tools, machines, and resources to create useful products that satisfy human wants and needs and enable us to solve problems.
How can technology help me?
We study technology for many different reasons. Technology may offer a career in a field that is exciting and always changing. It also helps us answer that age old question how does it work?
Classes currently offered for the 2010 - 2011 School year.
Technical Drawing
Learn to express your ideas through the use of mechanical and computer drafting. This is the most basic of Technology class, it is a great starting point. Drawing is an essential part of all Technology classes.
Wood Tech
A basic introduction in materials processing involving wood. In this course you will learn proper safety techniques, and how to use a wide verity of hand and power tools. This knowledge will then be applied to a woodworking project of your choice.
Pre-Engineering
This course gives a basic overview of different types of engineering. In this course you problem solving and design skill will be tested. You must apply your problem solving skill and knowledge to solve engineering problem .
Architecture
Do you ever wonder how a house goes from an idea to a finished product? In this course we explore the steps and thought processes that is required to turn an idea into a computer model. This model can then be given to a contractor and constructed into a home. You will use the latest in computer modeling software to aid you in designing an affordable home that incorporates green technologies.
Production Systems
An introductory course into the world of mass production. We will explore the ideas and concepts involved with a modern production system. Students will also design and construct an item for mass production. This involves turn an idea into reality and designing jigs and fixtures to aid in mass production.
Home Maintenance
In this course we will take an in-depth look at many different types of maintenance tasks that are performed around a home. This course is designed to give you knowledge that can be used in the construction field or just used to save you money.
