Richard DeMallie Ed. D.

Prior to being appointed to the position of Superintendent in 2022, I served as the High School Principal for the Gloversville Enlarged School District. In the 21 years I was in Gloversville, I was also a P.E. Teacher and Assistant Principal.  Before Gloversville, I worked for the LaSalle School for Boys in Albany and the Scotia Glenville School District as a P. E. teacher and coach.  I have coached Track, Basketball, Bowling and Football.

I grew up in a small town, and the foundation of who I am comes from a tight-knit community, such as Fort Edward, where the school is the hub of the Village. After high school, I attended Fulton Montgomery Community College (FMCC), where I earned my Associates in Science Degree. After FMCC, I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree with a concentration in teaching from SUNY Cortland.  I then moved back home and began my teaching career while simultaneously attending The College of St. Rose, where I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration. In 2010, I went back to school and attended The Sage College of Albany to earn my advanced degree.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any issues. My cell number is 518-866-9722.  I truly thank you for your trust and support, and I look forward to working collaboratively with you towards the success of every child in our District.

"I see my role as principal as a supportive one; I want to support the teachers and the students of Fort Edward to make sure they have what they need to do their best everyday.  I believe in listening, observing, and reflecting, and not being afraid to do something different.  I believe in collaboration and communication.  Most importantly, I believe that we are all on the same team."

Mrs. Russo and her husband have two children and one dog.  Her hobbies include running and working out (sometimes faithfully, sometimes not), reading, and traveling.
