Our After School Enrichment group, FORTS First Responders had an incredible experience visiting the Fort Edward Fire Department. They had the opportunity to explore the trucks, discover various equipment, and even got to try out using a real firehose!

NYS Testing Information

Mr. Smith Named Director of All County Band
We would like to say congratulations to our high school band teacher Mr. Smith. He has been selected to be the director of the senior band at the All-County Music Festival. This year we have 15 students from grades 6-12 performing at the festival.

Back Parking Lot Gate Closing Until Dismissal
Our PE classes and recess will soon be heading outside. Beginning April 22nd the gate that leads to the back parking lot will be closed until 2:25.

Fort Edward Freshmen Visit BOCES
Our 9th grade students spent the afternoon visiting the BOCES CTE program. They were able to take a tour through all the courses offered on the campus. It was a great experience for them to see the programs in action. We also were able to hear experiences from current Fort Edward BOCES students.

Seniors Awarded Scholarship to SUNY Adirondack
Seniors who attended SUNY Adirondack field trip took a private tour of the campus to experience the college atmosphere. After the tour, our students were recognized with a certificate of acceptance into the college.

FORTIFY THE FORT - PLEASE VOTE on MAY 21st! The project will bring new safety and security enhancements, gym improvements, playground enhancements, roof maintenance, a backup generator, improved HVAC, and more. In total, updates to the school to create a better environment for our students and teachers.

Students Learn Math Through Movement
In November, Fort Edward teachers attended a training for Math and Movement, which uses movement to teach math and reading skills and increase physical activity throughout the day.

Last week, students Pre K - 6th grade enjoyed a special performance by Opera Saratoga. They came and performed Katie: The Strongest of the Strong; composed by Faye Chiao and libretto by Anton Dudley.
